I've done some tweaking to my site for the overall meta tags on my site (and there are quite a number). Perhaps writting a mod or plugin for pre-optimized meta tags could be in the works?

Not sure this is what your looking for, but a while back I started a metaData plugin. Currently it only handles Keywords though I plan to add additional support later on for additional meta data attributes. You can download an alpha release of it here: http://www.visual28.com/assets/content/mango/metadata-1-0.zip

Thanks Visual28, I'll check it out and give it a try. (I currently have my meta tags hardcoded on the blog at the moment). I'll look into it and give you some feedback.

Additionally, just some inital food for thought:
I kow right now it just handles keywords, bit for future reference/development you might want to keep in mind:

Those are the meta tags i know get crawled and are extremely useful in SEO, Optimization, Etc.

Yes, those were on my plan already however some may no longer be necessary. Hense the reason I have not yet finished making the plugin. e.g. robots, googlebot, and msnbot default is to index, it's only necessary if you want a nofollow. Not something many people would want. Most of the time current search engines put the most weight on titles, headings, and content. So unless your keywords are more general or your topics are very specific, keywords that are not relevant to your content pages would actually do more harm than good. It's splitting hairs I know, but it really has made me rethink how I wanted to approach the metadata plugin. I have ideas that I just need to flush out and learn how to make mango do what I want it to do. I'll post back when I have something more solid. Likewise you can also subscribe to my sites RSS feed. I have other plugins coming down the pipe as well as soon as I can clear my plate of a few other jobs.

I need help in using this meta plug-in in my site. I have downloaded this folder & unzipped it and uploaded the contents to components/plugins/user. After uploading the folder, what should I do? I am new to this. Can you please help me in this?

I figured it out myself. I activated the meta data in admin.

Have you considered maybe having this Plugin adapted to Individual Posts & Pages?

I was just thinking on that one...

Probably more work than it needs to be.

I would like to share on page standard for meta tags creation. The title length should be 70 characters , description length should be 160 characters and meta keywords length should be 112 characters.
