Laura,

I have been working on my new blog and I am using Mango. I like it over some other CF Blog engines b/c of its usability, however one thing I dislike about Mango is the lack of instructions.

Bare with me :) I love Mango, so take this as instructive criticism.

I created a "man I wish there was some info on how to do this:"

- Add a plug in into the Mango Engine
- How does the event engine work in Mango?
- How can I create custom templates?
- How do I interface with the Mango API, for example I want to add a CFC to handle a contact form submittal, not sure where to start b/c i want to make sure I am utilizing the Mango API to its full extent.

I love free engines, and I REALLY appreciate the people that put these things together and I KNOW its a lot of extra work w/ little payoff (except thru growth), but...

It takes so much time trying to reverse engineer how an application works and it would probably save developers who use Mango hours and hours if they had a quick reference on the key features/functionalities of mango's API, how to interface with it and add new plug-in's etc...

So thats my 2 cents, i hope it helps in some fashion.

Thank you for making Mango Laura! :)

I hear you Josh :)

In the roadmap, point #9 is "Complete documentation". I've been trying to do that since I starting writing Mango, but it seems I never have time to do it.

I sort of purposely left the plugin API undocumented because I thought it was not finalized. But at this point when people starts using Mango and really want to fully benefit from it, I need to take responsability and document it :)

Mango is a bit complex and it provides a lot of possibilities, so it really needs good documentation. There are even things I didn't even remember they were possible.

So... my answer is that you are right, and that I'll see what I can do to make it better on that respect.

Thanks for your input.
